robusto has asked if he can be unbanned, says he got banned because of the swear filter.
Server was Jackdaw 3 Public
Was banned somewhere in december (he can't quite remember)
He has using the name robusto.
If you need any more info, i'll either get him to post or pas any info on!

i think i sweared once in october or something and then accidentally again mid december somewhere, from what i remember it had to do with someone blocking a window
so could i please get unbanned ? jackdaw is about the only fun server left in cod2 and i just like to run around having some fun with rifles when im not grinding poker or studying.
also, just a suggestion: seems a little harsh to have the warnings stay permanently, i mean if you swear once in october u forget u have only 1 left, and something might accidentally slip out.. maybe reset them each month or we ?

this is not a money making scheme.
Players that cannot be bothered to obey the server rules, despite them clearly scrolling by repeatedly will suffer the consequencies.
That said, I understand we all make mistakes, so as you have offered to make a donation to get yourself unbanned Robusto, the donation you make may well set the limit (if we set a limit at all) for players getting unbanned.
This will only apply to swearing bans, hacking and admin decision bans will be a completely seperate issue and dealt with accordingly.

I've been playing on your fine server for many months and only made the mistake of losing my temper twice. I think the fact that there was such a long period of time between the two instances of swearing show this.
Of course unbanning me is up to you. Also I'm not really donating to get myself unbanned, that would be a bribe lol, I'm just donating because I only found this forum yesterday and why not donate a couple of bucks to keep the only good server left alive ?

Hiya Robusto.
This is exactly the problem/dilema I have, it does seem like a bribe, and this is not what I am trying to do, beleive me, but where do you draw the line??
The idea of the swearbox is that you make a donation to "pay for you sins". For players like yourself appologies are acceptable but as a regular player yourself you must see the amount of abuse that goes on without any reprimand.
A quick look through the forums will show the amount of posts that appear because of someone complaining of hackers cheats and insulting behaviour says it all.
Now, wanting to donate the JD3 just because you want to donate is a completely different matter.
Should you wish to donate (forget the swearing ban for one monent please) you will be given a password to all the JD3 servers and be listened to as to server running, i.e. maps gametypes ect. even admin!?
(that to me is more of a bribe lol)
Also it seems you were directed to the site because of the ban, am I right?

The swearbox is not a bad idea. Cause then it becomes paying for your sins, ie. retribution or punishment, and not just a bribe
